The role:  
eHealth Queensland require an experienced Cisco network engineer who can design enterprise grade network solutions across the range of facilities within Queensland Health.

You will have broad experience in converging and integrating networks whilst taking into account security requirements. You will be accustomed to working collaboratively with stakeholders, vendors and customers to ensure that solutions meet standards and customer requirements.

Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager, you will:

  • Lead the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation planning of complex Cisco Networking changes. Ensuring alignment with best practice IM/ICT design and delivery frameworks, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures.
  • Undertake an evaluation of risks to the integrity of infrastructure inherent in proposed implementations. Conduct configuration changes on systems in line with programs of work and the Enterprise Change Management system. You will be required to undertake out of hours work in conjunction with changes and implementations.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of ICT specialists to deliver solutions within Queensland. You will have good organisational and prioritisation skills which enables yourself and your team to work across many different projects and deliver to agreed timelines.
  • Maintain and improve your specialism (knowledge of current and emerging products, technologies and trends) whilst promoting an environment of continuous improvement within the enterprise.

Are you right for this role?
To be successful in this role you will have experience in the design, publication, implementation, compliance and delivery of technical solutions to industry best practice frameworks for large scale, complex IM/ICT program/project(s), preferably in the health care industry.

Experience designing ICT solutions across multiple sites and scales and providing expert knowledge in relevant design standards, techniques and methods for large scale complex organisations.

Demonstrated experience in the assessment, analysis, development, documentation and implementation planning of changes for large complex IM/ICT program/project(s).

Demonstrated high level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with a proven record in the assessment and evaluation of technical requirements within a complex IM/ICT environment.

Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions.

Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary project team.
