The Physiotherapy Department at the Mackay Base Hospital are seeking applications for a Podiatrist to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

To provide a competent Podiatry service as part of a multidisciplinary team to consumers of the Mackay Base Hospital.

The MBH position service delivers clinical podiatry services based on current best practice guidelines and evidence, including consumers with chronic disease and ‘high' risk feet including amputations, foot ulcerations, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease, gross foot deformities and other conditions in conjunction with the high-risk podiatrist at the Mackay Base Hospital. 

This position reports professionally to the HP5 Podiatrist – Allied Health, Subacute and Ambulatory Services and operationally to the Director of Physiotherapy.

About the Team

Our Podiatry Service provides specialist assessment, treatment and advice for acute presentations, especially in relation to wound care and acute diabetic foot complications. Referrals are accepted from medical, nursing and allied health staff both from the hospital and community settings.
