This post provides the opportunity for an innovative, motivated and enthusiastic therapist to join our Occupational Therapy team within Aberdeen City Adult Community Mental Health Service.

The post will involve working closely within a small team of Occupational Therapists and the wider multi-disciplinary team. Multi-disciplinary/multi-agency team working is essential to this role and previous experience working in Adult Mental Health would be of benefit.

The post holder will provide an Occupational Therapy service to residents in Aberdeen City who experience mental ill-health.  As part of our Occupational Therapy Service, the post holder will manage their own caseload with regular supervision.  Using evidence based practice and patient centred principles they will assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions for patients with complex mental health needs.  Patients may be seen in their own home, a community or clinical setting or digitally.  Patients are seen with the aim of assessing their functioning skills, mental health and maximizing independence, making onward referral within the team or on to other services where appropriate, and facilitating timely and planned discharge.

Opportunities for continuous personal development (CPD) are encouraged with regular supervision, preceptorship and peer support.
