About the Role:

This is a Permanent Part Time position at 38 hours per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy department (with potential for some additional hours). 

You will work collaboratively with children, families and occupational therapists to support quality, timely and safe clinical care, and contribute to the clinical care of inpatients and outpatients and support the occupational therapists with therapy, equipment and patient related administrative duties within both our acute and rehab services.

What you'll achieve:

  • Providing therapy together with or under the guidance and direction of the occupational therapists
  • Supporting the occupational therapists to provide or maintain/ adjust equipment that supports the child's care and participation in meaningful activities
  • Providing assistance with varied patient related administrative duties

Classification for this position will be AH Assistant Grade 3 IN30 (FTE base salary $64,464 per annum, plus superannuation)

Your skills and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent
  • Experience in working directly with paediatric patients as an Allied Health Assistant
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting is desirabe

About Occupational Therapy:

The Occupational Therapy department is within the Division of Nursing and Allied Health. We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions. Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other health care professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.

  • Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willing to obtain
  • Compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure
