Royal Hobart HospitalThe Royal Hobart Hospital, Cardiology Department has an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified applicants to become a Cardiology Fellow, subspecialising in Electrophysiology and Devices.The Royal Hobart Hospital, Cardiology Department has an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified applicants to become a Cardiology Fellow, subspecialising in Electrophysiology and Devices.The RoleThe 1-year position is as a sole fellow working with 2 electrophysiologists and 2 device cardiologists. We implant and provide follow-up for approximately 300 Cardiac Implantable Device (CIED) per year including (S-)ICD, CSP, CRT and leadless devices. Follow-up is provided by cardiac physiologist led device clinics including an extensive remote monitoring service. The electrophysiology service performs over 250 EP/ablation procedures per year including all supraventricular arrhythmia and selected ventricular arrhythmia ablations.The Royal Hobart Hospital is the only tertiary referral centre for Tasmania serving a population of 560,000. It is a teaching hospital situated in the CBD of Hobart, adjoining the medical campus of the University of Tasmania.A shared care model is in place with the Royal Melbourne Hospital including interstate referral for ablation of complex arrhythmia and CIED extraction procedures.Service development and academic research are integral components of our program. Fellows are expected to undertake clinical care improvement projects and publish on the results as well as encouraged to perform research projects and publish papers. Fellows aim to present at local Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ) and international meetings. Regular CRM educational meetings and journal clubs are held, and Fellows are also encouraged to attend the twice-weekly departmental meetings comprising journal clubs, imaging and EP presentations, morbidity and mortality discussions, and grand rounds presentations.Completion of either the CEPIA graduate program, EHRA level 2 certification in EP, or IBHRE exams are expected.Candidate prerequisites:Completion of core cardiology training.The hospital administration provides assistance with the Visa and credentialing process for international candidatesDetails of AppointmentFixed term, part time, day worker position working up to 38 hours per fortnight commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2025.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 , Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar)AwardMedical Practitioners (Tasmania State Service) AwardSuccessful applicants will be required to meet the
