About the Role
As a theatre technician, you are a member of the multidisciplinary perioperative team. In this role you are accountable for performing all assigned tasks providing excellence in patient care, providing technical support and ensuring that the role is performed to facilitate effective functioning of the Operating Suite.
 

In this role, you would exhibit the following:-

• Competent knowledge and preparation of required resources and equipment for the procedures in the Operating Theatre.

• Excellent trouble shooting skills and technical knowledge of the equipment in the Theatre.

• Excellent patient preparation and care including safe transportation and positioning of the patient.

• Excellent Housekeeping management to provide a clean environment with all equipment required for the procedure.

Classifications for this position will range from IN8 - IN10 ($64,308 - $72,061 per annum, pro rata for part time).
Your Contribution

You should have the following skills and qualification:

• Certificate III in Health (Theatre Technician) or

• Certificate IV in Operating Suite technical Support

• A technical aptitude and comfortable working with equipment.

• 1 year of minimum experience as a Theatre Technician (desirable).

• Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain.

St Vincent's Operating Suite currently houses 12 theatres, 12 anaesthetic rooms and a Post Anaesthetic Care Area. Working alongside the Sterile Processing Centre, Day Procedures and Endoscopy Centres the department undertakes over 12,000 procedures per year in a vast range of highly specialised and complex specialities over a 24 hour period, 7 days per week.
