Workplace Health and Safety Advisor - Local Government

We are actively seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Advisor to provide proactive support in all matters related to workplace health and safety. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring that the services adhere to legislative requirements and meet the high standards expected by the Council.

$44.85 hourly rate + Super

Monday to Friday (7:00am - 3:00pm)

Mackay Location - Work Close to Home!

A Day in the Life:
  • Advise and support on WH&S, fire safety, and emergency planning.
  • Conduct workplace inspections to identify hazards.
  • Participate in educational programs on WH&S procedures and assist in developing and delivering WH&S training.
  • Analyze data for WH&S reports.
  • Investigate workplace incidents.
  • Maintain relationships with external resources.
  • Support injury management procedures.
  • Contribute to policy development and compliance.
The Ideal Candidate:

Essential:

  • Qualification in Work Health & Safety
  • Formal training in incident investigation (e.g. ICAM or TapRoot)
  • White Card
  • Driver's Licence - "C" class

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment
  • Building Fire Safety Advisor qualification
  • Certification in Incident Investigation (i.e. ICAM)
  • Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator qualification
