Build Run Repair (BRR), a division of the wider Visy Group, provides Technical Advisory, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management services for the Pulp & Paper, Packaging, Recycling and Waste to Energy sectors.

As we continue to innovate and expand our operations in Glass manufacturing, we are seeking a diligent and proactive individual to play a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our project based at Yatala (QLD).

The Role

Reporting to the HSE Manager - BRR, you will support the operational delivery of the Health and Safety division for the Yatala Glass Project to ensure all records are in compliance that spans to cross-functional teams and divisions.

As the HSE Advisor, you will drive the operational delivery of the HSE Management Plan for a major project so that identified HSE outcomes are met and to provide timely and expert advice and support to the HSE and Project/Construction Managers.

The key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Implement project HSE plans and enforce safe systems of work on the project site
  • Advise and assist the Project Team in all HSE-related matters
  • Review contractor Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) and related documents and processes, as submitted by the contractors
  • Enforce Permit to Work procedures
  • Ensure Corrective Action Requests raised on his site are addressed in a timely manner
  • Schedule, communicate and direct emergency drills at the Project site
  • Deliver induction and other HSE-related training
  • Report and investigate incidents and near misses and participates in dissemination of lessons learnt
  • Conduct periodic audits and inspections
  • Liaison with contractor site representatives to maintain open communication and a high standard of safety and quality on the project
What you will bring to the team:

Significant experience in Occupational Health and Safety related positions in a Heavy Industry, Construction or Mining environment

Experience in Greenfield or Brownfield start-ups or shutdowns highly regarded

Higher Technical / vocational qualification in HSE

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities

Car License
