About the Role:
The Environmental Health team is seeking an Environmental Health Officer to assist in delivering the teams’ exciting portfolio of responsibilities. Most notably, the team is responsible for the delivery and coordination of all Environmental Health Statutory functions, including food safety, infectious disease control, tobacco control, community education and nuisance complaints.
By working both independently andcollaborativelywithin a team environment, you will play a key role inprotecting the public health of our community through monitoring, educating and achieving compliance of public health standards.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
Degree in Applied Health Science (Public and Environmental Health) or a related discipline essential and/or demonstrated relevant experience in the field
Strong customer service focus, with well-developed verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities
Self-motivator with well-developed conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
Previous work experience practicing as an Authorised officer will be highly regarded
Mandatory pre-employment requirements:
Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
Current Drivers Licence
