The role 

Reporting to the Project Manager, Medical Officer Fatigue Review, your role will manage the review, development, implementation and evaluation of the Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) across Queensland Health.

The role will assist with the review of measures and performance indicators for the prevention and management of fatigue related risks specific to medical officers while assisting with identifying proposed controls including system redesign for implementation within Queensland Health.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Sound understanding, knowledge and experience with legislation, standards and best practice strategies relating to fatigue prevention and management including, but not limited to:
  • the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011
  • applicable fatigue related prevention and management guidelines and relevant industry codes of practice
  • Sound analytical and research skills to conduct the systematic review of existing Queensland Health processes and systems and ability to identify additional requirements to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Ability to determine current national and international research evidence for fatigue risk management particularly research on medical officer fatigue for translation into Queensland Health processes and systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to effectively liaise, engage and negotiate with a range of government, and other stakeholders, and the ability to work both independently and effectively lead and manage a team.
