The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Health Promotion Officer to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Undertake health promotion initiatives in line with evidence based practice
• Collaboratively design, implement and evaluate health promotion interventions and strategies that reflect the needs of stakeholders, partners and the broader community
• Work with other public health practitioners and partners for the effective implementation of public health initiatives based on an understanding of community and organisational contexts
• Make decisions and propose actions in relation to priorities for health promotion by analysing available evidence from local, regional, state, national and/or international data

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in health promotion
• Blue Card (GCH will cover cost)
• Drivers Licence
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (up to 30.06.2025, with possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $76 747 - $112 805 per annum

The Gold Coast Public Health Unit aligns with the Nursing, Midwifery & Patient Experience Division in the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. The Public Health Unit aims to manage risk, prevent disease and promote the health and wellbeing of the community.
