About the role

  • The Senior Staff/Staff Specialist will function as a member of the surgical team providing high quality health care in the area of Urology to the Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Services (STARS).
  • There is a requirement to provide overtime as clinically required.
  • To assist with the training of registrars, involvement in supervision of Junior Medical Staff and participate in research is encouraged.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following within the context of the “key accountabilities” found in the role description:

  • Comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations, and standards which impact upon the position, including contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policies.
  • Provide specialist urology services for patients undergoing elective surgery.
  • Assist in education and simulation activities for junior medical and nursing staff, and as appropriate for a teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland.
  • Keep accurate digital records which meet the standards required by the Metro North Hospital Health Service and Royal Australian College of Surgeons.
  • Endeavour at all times to support the research activities of colleagues.
