An exciting opportunity exists for the Registered Nurse – Interventional Suites to independently perform the role of Scrub / Scout within the Angiography labs requiring demonstrated expertise in Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Electrophysiology & Pacing.

The Interventional Suite is a specialised and dynamic area that provides procedural diagnostics and interventions to the community of the Sunshine Coast, and is home to many specialities and caters for multiple referral sources. 

Interventional Radiology, Electrophysiology, Pacing and Interventional Cardiology operate a Monday to Friday service and provides a 24/7 on call emergency service. The unit maintains its own admission and recovery process where patients can receive continuity of care throughout their procedural journey. 

Key Responsibilities include: 

• Prepare patients for their procedures and assist the interventionalist in the following:
  • Diagnostic angiography,
  • Interventional Angiography - Angioplasty and stenting,
  • Coiling and embolisation.
  • Device implantation (CVAD / PPM).
  • Drainages and aspirations.
  • Thermo / RF Ablation procedures.
  • CT and USS procedures.

• Administer procedural sedation and monitor patient vital signs throughout.
• Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
• Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.

Salary between $82,753 - $106,144 p.a. (F/T), or salary rates: $41.73 - $53.53 p.h. (P/T), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Permanent full time and part time positions available, up to 76 hrs p.f.).
