About us:

The Specialist Outpatients Department SOPD) spans 3 levels of the Rockhampton Hospital covering 9 major specialties – Cardiology, Dermatology, ENT, General Surgery, General Medicine, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics & Urology. There are various other visiting specialties including Pacemaker clinic, Adult Congenital Heart Disease outreach clinic as well as a number of telehealth clinics e.g. Inflammatory Bowel Disease clinic. The SOPD team works closely with a wide range of other departments including Renal Services, Cancer Care Services, Allied Health, Department of Child Safety, Operational Services, and Community Services. SOPD also works collaboratively with other facilities within CQHHS and across the state with other Hospital and Health Services to have patients treated appropriately closest to home.

About the role:

The Registered Nurse works within scope of practice to assume responsibility for delivering competent, evidence-based nursing care. The position works collaboratively with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and reliable care is provided within the dynamic Specialist Outpatients Department setting.

About you:

  • Mandatory qualification/s: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • Experience in the provision of a safe and quality focused environment by ensuring safe work practices, reviewing clinical outcomes, developing a quality improvement plan and applying the risk management framework.
  • Has a well-developed ability to identify opportunities for improvement and a demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Well-developed clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills in a high-quality client-orientated health service delivery model.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, standards, policies and procedures relevant to contemporary nursing practice and specific to area of practice.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $62,943 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $41.73- $53.53 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
