Tell me more...Support and enhance the capacity of state schools with secondary students to develop structures and environments that promote the health and wellbeing of young people, and to provide secondary school aged young people with access to a limited primary health care service within the school.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with young people in individual and group situations and which demonstrate respect for a young person's needs and capabilities using approaches which empower young people to maximise health and wellbeing.
  • Well-developed ability to plan, initiate, coordinate and evaluate health promotion and capacity building activities in the school setting using evidence based practice and frameworks (e.g. Health Promoting Schools).
  • Ability to work in partnership with the school and community services and agencies to promote health and provide services that are appropriate and acceptable to young people.

Requirements for the role:

  • Post graduate qualification in Nursing or working towards is highly desirable.
