The role

The role of the Clinical Nurse is to provide direct clinical care to the medical imaging patients (including inpatients and outpatients), supporting the application of best practice. The Clinical Nurses perform nursing care across a range of subspecialties including scrub/scout for procedures and post anaesthetic recovery care, experience in Medical Imaging Nursing essential.

Employment Term

  • Permanent part-time, 48 hours per fortnight.

Role requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. 
  • Highly Desirable: 
    • Medical Imaging Experience ideally with experience in high end/complex DSA procedures.
    • Peripheral Inserted Venous Cannulation (PIVC) and Ultrasound Guided PIVC competent. 
  • Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster. 
  • Wearing of designated PPE: The position requires the wearing of protective lead clothing to comply with Radiation Safety Guidelines, Staff may be required to wear PPE for varying periods of time.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes. 
  • Provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
  • Use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
