The role 

Reporting to the Director, Safety Leadership and Advisory Services, your role will provide comprehensive support to the achievement of the Medical Officer Fatigue Management Review objectives and outcomes through effective administrative and project support to the Project Manager, Senior Project Officer and other stakeholders.

The successful person

You will have demonstrated:

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering high level administrative and project support including the ability to quickly prioritise and flexibility to adapt to changing demands in an industrially sensitive environment.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and incoming requests to achieve effective results in tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and work autonomously, combined with a good understanding of when to collaborate and/or seek advice before making a decision.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse issues, develop collaborative solutions and adopt a proactive approach, with minimal direction, whilst delivering high quality work.

Human Resources Branch partners with stakeholders across Queensland Health to provide human resource strategies and support to realise the potential of our people in the delivery of quality healthcare to Queenslanders. The branch delivers a range of human resource services to attract and retain staff, build workforce culture and capability, develop and maintain employment arrangements, monitor and manage workforce performance, support safe and healthy work and provide assurance that the department's statutory obligations are met.

Health and Safety Unit

The Health and Safety Unit partners with stakeholders across Queensland Health to provide strategic and state-wide leadership and guidance on all matters pertaining to work health, safety and wellbeing (WHSW), including: designing policy architecture to enable and inform the delivery of operational health and safety services, workplace rehabilitation and wellbeing initiatives; provide expert advice to the organisation and operational health and safety teams on the identification and management of physical and psychosocial hazards and risks for the workplace; providing specialist advice and services to Hospital and Health Services (HHSs); monitoring, evaluation and compliance; maintaining close relationships with key partners including Human Resources, Risk and Governance, Legal, and Patient Safety teams.
