Lead Speech & Language Therapist - Permanent role

Salary: £50K - £60k depending on experience

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week. Part-time hours also available. Flexible working hours.

Location: Rutland


About the role:

Working in 2 specialist secondary schools in Rutland area, to develop pupils core communication and interaction skills and learn how to manage their physical and sensory needs in order to impact positively on their social, emotional, and mental health and broaden their ability to engage in learning opportunities across the curriculum.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech & Language Therapist:

  • Working independently within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures
  • Create your own team and develop the clinical provision within this innovative environment
  • Support the services in future development and ensuring quality assurance.
  • maintain a strong safeguarding culture
  • Manage your your own caseload utilising a creative therapeutic approach and the ability to make decisions
  • Contribute to staff training and consultation
  • Support the multi-disciplinary team



What we are looking for in a Speech & Language Therapist:

  • BSc in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registered with the HCPC and RCSLT
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and training
  • Experience of working with people who have an intellectual disability and/or autism with additional needs (e.g. complex trauma, mental health needs, behaviours of concern)
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage strategically
  • Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car
