What You Will Be Working On

In any one day this role could be facedwith:

  • Undertaking investigations and enforcing compliance underthe City’s local laws relating to public health issuescontributing to a positive public image and reduction inhealth-related incidents, minimising potential legal issues andliabilities.
  • Conduct food and water sampling and other relevantinspections as required to support successful investigation andimplementation of remedial actions.
  • Implement educational programs to inform the communityabout hygiene practices, disease prevention, and the importanceof a healthy lifestyle.
  • Conduct routine inspections of public spaces, businessesand residential areas for compliance matters.
  • Respond to public complaints and reports related topotential health hazards or non-compliances.

About You

Ideally, we are looking for someone with the followingexperience and qualifications:

  • Formal studies or training in Environmental Health or arelated discipline with knowledge of food/water sampling.
  • Knowledge and understanding of health legislation, theBuilding Code of Australia and other Acts, regulations andlocal laws administrated by Health Services.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills withexcellent time management.
  • Strong problem solving and investigative analyticalskills.
