The Hospital: The Health Service supports an outer catchment population of 250,000 and has over 1,700 staff meeting the needs of the diverse regional community. The Hospital is affiliated with Universities for the provision of undergraduate and postgraduate Medical, Nursing and Allied Health education. Affiliations also exist for clinical placement and training. The hospital is supported by junior medical staff either directly employed or on rotation from major Melbourne metropolitan teaching hospitals and teaching is provided to Monash Medical School Students.
