The Facility
Our Tertiary Teaching Hospital, accredited by ACEM, offers a 6-month Advanced Training program with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, including a pediatric log-book. As a bustling regional trauma center, we're well-supported by Adult Retrieval Victoria, ensuring comprehensive care for our patients. With an average of 35,000 patient visits annually, including 20% pediatric cases, and an admission rate of 16-20%, our department is vibrant and dynamic. We provide specialist coverage 7 days a week, boasting 12 treatment bays, 3 fast-track cubicles, 2 resuscitation bays, and an 8-bed short stay unit. Supported by surgical, medical, pediatric, obstetric, gynecologic, psychiatric, anesthetic, and ICU services, our emergency department ensures holistic care for our patients.
