Be part of a large diverse finance team managing a $1.8bln annual operating budget, and your role will specialise in Management Accounting. The Principal Management Accountant position reports to the Manager Finance & Business Analysis, and plays an integral role in all aspects of the Hospital and Health Service financial management including the service agreement, budget process, forecasting, and provision and expert analysis and advice to HHS stakeholders ensuring compliance, control and governance in business operations and processes.

This role is entitled to Professional Development Allowance (PDA) and in addition to this has access to Professional Development Incentive Package including professional development leave entitlements in accordance with the award.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Manager Finance & Business Analysis to manage the Finance & Business Analysis team, providing budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting functions for the HHS, enabling long term financial sustainability and monitor performance against targets.
  • Support the Manager Finance & Business Analysis to coordinate and reconcile the HHS annual budget and resource allocation processes aligning to the Department of Health service agreement funding including consultation and negotiation with the Department of Health, Health Service Chief Executive, Chief Finance Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Senior Director Finance and Service Groups and Principal Finance & Business Advisors including the development of budget models, business rules, procedures and guidelines for budget treatment of major revenue and expenditure items and preparation of budget papers.
  • Support the continuous funding negotiation process with the Department of Health, provide analysis and advice as to maximise revenue streams available.
  • Liaise with staff of the Queensland Department of Health and key Sunshine Coast HHS stakeholders on budget developments with respect to activity-based funding and business processes relating to budgeting, forecasting, business analysis, costing and reporting.

Remuneration value up to $161,718 p.a., comprising salary between $132,072 - $141,738 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (PO5).
