About us:

The Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Capricorn Coast, Gladstone, Central Highlands and Banana areas with services located in each area.

About the role:

The Gladstone Integrated Service provides specialised services for the population of Gladstone and the surrounding areas through a range of interventions including assessment, case management, therapeutic treatment, support, consultations and referrals. The service works in collaboration with the local hospitals, other alcohol and other drugs and mental health teams and with primary health, community and private sector providers to reduce harm from alcohol and drug and improve the health and wellbeing.

About you:

  • Have a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent.
  • Be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual nursing practicing certificate Division one.
  • An ability to provide quality alcohol and drug clinical care to consumers accessing the service in line with state-wide models of service.
  • Knowledge of Queensland Health Opioid Treatment Program.
  • An ability to work independently and deliver safe nursing care at an increasingly complex clinical level.
  • Experience in mental health is desirable as the service operates from an integrated model.
  • High level of effective interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $131,900 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
