About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate ability to apply contemporary leadership principles and maintain an effective and motivated team.
  • Demonstrate positive role modelling and adopting a solutions-focused approach to leading the resolution of issues in line with policies and organisational values.
  • Provide coaching, succession planning and facilitation to provide opportunities for role development and clinical experience of registered and clinical midwives.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will support the Maternity Unit Manager (MUM) in providing leadership and direction to midwifery staff and is responsible for the facilitation and provision of safe, quality and cost-effective midwifery care consistent with contemporary standards and best practice within the unit or area.

About your role:

  • Support the MUM to implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
  • Function as a clinical resource to midwifery staff and other health care professionals utilising clinical skills and knowledge in supporting the MUM of the unit.
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team utilising professional skills and ability to contribute to woman centred care to meet the woman's individual health care needs.
  • Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of clinical specialty and work in collaboration with the MUM to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in woman-centred care.
