Digital Metro North (DMN) works collaboratively with Metro North Health (MNH) clinical leads and end users to deliver the digital transformation strategy for Metro North Health. It will ultimately create an integrated digital hospital and healthcare environment across Metro North.  In meeting this strategy significant capital works are being undertaken over the next five years that includes hospital construction/refurbishment and the implementation of ieMR Advanced solution across Metro North. Delivering this will require a dedicated team, with the capacity to work across initiatives and domains, with the knowledge, determination, skills and experience to deliver.

Together with the requirements of the role description, our ideal candidate will have the ability to

  • Lead and manage the successful delivery of a range of digital projects and activities required to support the implementation of the Capacity Expansion Program at Metro North Health sites, ensuring desired outcomes are achieved and robust solutions are delivered that meet time, cost and customer quality expectations.
  • Drive high quality digital project delivery within DMN by leading, managing and directing multi-disciplinary project capability under a matrix resourcing model of shared specialist resources including external specialist vendors.
  • Provide expert advice into the design, planning and delivery projects to ensure they meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health and Metro North Health policies, frameworks, strategies and architecture.

Key knowledge and experience

The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Leadership – Demonstrated leadership capability with proven experience in effectively leading, managing, coaching and mentoring multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of complex digital or ICT initiatives to large, complex organisations preferably in the health care sector and in a capital infrastructure delivery environment.
  • Project Management and Coordination – Proven expertise in project management and coordination including use of appropriate communication, governance and performance reporting techniques and tools which contribute to the overall achievement of digital design and delivery activities within and across facilities.
  • Stakeholder management – Proven experience in identifying, engaging and managing internal and external stakeholders and suppliers cultivating productive working relationships to facilitate the successful delivery of digital initiatives for Metro North Health.
  • Communication and influence – Excellent oral and written communication skills including proven negotiation, consultation and facilitation skills at all levels in a complex digital delivery environment with the ability to target project/program communications appropriately for a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Governance and assurance – Proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective project/program governance through transparent decision making, assurance, dependency, risk/issue, benefits, change, performance and financial management and reporting practices that promote effective outcomes.
