The role 

Reporting to the Director, you will provide leadership in mental health alcohol and other drug strategy, planning and program development that is evidenced informed and consistent with relevant national and State policy directions. With a focus on mental health and alcohol and othe drug capital infrastructure and service design projects, you will manage the developoent, implementation and evaluation of initiatives to deliver on Queensland Government priorities.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships and partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders across government and non-government sectorss.

The successful person

To be successful in this role, you will have expert knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge, of mental health, alcohol and other drug services, issues and priorities at a national and state level.

You will also have high level interpersonal skills in negotiation, influencing, advocacy, communication, consultation and harnessing the collective efforts of diverse stakeholders at strategic and operational levels. This role requires high level policy, planning and project leadership and management skills and the demonstrated ability to formulate and communicate strategic advice relevant to mental health alcohol and other drugs health issues.

The Mental Health and Alcohol and other Drugs StrategyandPlanning Branch supports and guides the delivery of contemporary, high quality mental health, alcohol and other drugs services in the State-funded system through the development and implementation of state-wide planning, service frameworks and by utilising systems redesign methodologies to bring about service level change and improvement.
