An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced associate consultant to join SLR’s Occupational Hygiene & Hazardous Materials Management Team in Perth

Key Responsibilities

Job tasks and responsibilities

As part of a growing team in SLR, you will be required to conduct environmental and occupational hygiene monitoring and investigations. The role is diverse and will require site attendance from Perth metro to remote areas of WA. The site work can often be reactive and will require a dynamic person to fit within the energetic team. You will be supported by senior and principal consultants to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of methods and techniques required to solve complex occupational hygiene problems. 

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical advice on Hazardous Materials and Occupational Hygiene issues
  • Conduct site visits to install and setup up both environmental and occupational hygiene monitoring equipment.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical occupational hygiene reports
  • Assist with client liaison, quotes, tenders and Project Management
  • Regional travel will be required, with the occasional interstate travel when required.


Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you ideally will have:

  • Full membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists 
  • Occupational Hygiene and Consultancy industry experience is essential for the role.
  • Surface Ventilation Technician/Officer (not essential)
  • DMIRS Noise Officer (not essential)
  • Asbestos/HAZMAT survey experience is desirable but NOT essential
  • An understanding of reporting requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
  • You will have a keen interest in Occupational Hygiene and workplace exposure issues and be driven to continue ongoing learning and development.
  • A desire to work both locally, regionally and occasionally interstate.
