The Position
Staff Specialist/Senior Medical Officer (Intensive Care) provides specialist intensive care medical services in the Intensive Care Unit,  You will also be assisting with the education and supervision of trainees and other medical staff, medical students, allied health and nursing staff.
  • Competitive remuneration package value up to $461,256 p.a.
  • Overtime and on-call allowances will be negotiated with the successful applicant
  • Superannuation (up to 12.75%) 
  • Annual leave loading (17.5%) will be applied additionally to the total remuneration value.
  • Permanent Full Time, 80 hours per fortnight

The Hospital
The facility provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.  In the past few years, the hospital has undergone a significant redevelopment project exceeding $50 million. This redevelopment has resulted in the addition of new beds, enhancements to the rehabilitation unit, and the establishment of new facilities such as the emergency department, maternity unit, and special care nursery. The hospital now offers a wide range of services including intensive care, coronary care, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, vascular surgery, 24-hour emergency medicine, pharmacy, medical imaging, pathology, and comprehensive mental health services.

The Requirements
  • Mandatory possession of an approved medicine degree from a registered tertiary institution
  • General and Specialist registration with the  AHPRA 
  • Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (CICM)
Specialist Registrants preferred; however non-specialists/overseas trained specialists may be considered where appropriate and significant progression towards fellowship can be demonstrated.
