The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Deliver clinical Nuclear Medicine Technologist services within the Nuclear Medicine Department in accordance with established departmental protocols, professional standards and ethics
• Apply professional clinical judgement in providing Nuclear Medicine services where principles, procedures, techniques or methods require expansion, adaption or modification
• Undertake routine clinical Nuclear Medicine duties independently within accordance with a duty roster
• Evaluate and contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols including quality improvement activities that support the Nuclear Medicine service

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• A tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Applied Science / Medical Radiation Science - Nuclear Medicine
• AHPRA Registration
• Use licence for Diagnostic Imaging issued by Radiation Health Queensland
• Unrestricted radiation use licence in the use of computed tomography radiation apparatus from Radiation Health Queensland
• Available to participate in a varied shift roster over a 5-day period with participation with an “on call” service
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time (up to 18 months, with possibility of extension)
• Base salary ranging from $76 747 - $112 805 per annum

The Medical Imaging Service delivers a wide range of diagnostic imaging and interventional services across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. The service provides a Level 6 Medical Imaging service at Southport Gold Coast University Hospital and a Level 4 service at Robina.
