An exciting opportunity exists for a a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level allied health clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health. The Sunshine Coast Persistent Pain Management Service model of care includes the Calderdale Framework. It is an expectation that all staff within the service will engage with this framework and undertake skill sharing, appropriate delegation and, where required, competency-based training.

Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Allied Health clinicians within the Persistent Pain Management Service work as a team to meet clinical demand in keeping with Clinical Prioritisation Document. The Allied Health clinicians working in the Persistent Pain Management Service reports operationally to the Advanced Health Practitioner / Allied Health Team Leader and Medical Director of the Sunshine Coast Persistent Pain Management Service (SCPPMS), and professionally to their discipline Directors. 

Allied health at the SCHHS are part of either an Allied Health Service Delivery Model (AH-SDM) which is based on an integrated, decentralised professionally led approach with FTE reporting operationally and professionally to the Executive Director Allied Health (EDAH) through a Discipline Director or within a dispersed model reporting operationally to an Allied Health Manager (or other Operational Manager) with a professional reporting line to a Discipline Director/EDAH.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • To apply well developed trauma-informed, specialist clinical knowledge and expertise to manage a complex persistent pain patient caseload and contribute to the knowledge of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Deliver independent high level clinical psychology assessments and individual counselling to a diverse range of people with persistent pain. Deliver clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Undertake clinical governance activities, such as the development of clinical practices and guidelines that support the continuum of care.

Remuneration value up to $12,731 p.m., comprising salary between $4769.60 - $5132.40 p.f., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (temporary position available from 01/07/2024 to 31/12/2024).
