The Ambulatory Care Team at the Mackay Base Hospital are seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse (Urology) to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff and students.
The Clinical Nurse (Urology) works closely with and assists, the Urology Consultant,
Registrar and Residents by providing clinical expertise & knowledge as an advanced urology / continence advisor and stomal therapy nurse.
Provides expertise, support & assistance to ED, General Surgical, Renal, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Oncology services as required throughout the MHHS & tertiary centres including TTH, PAH, RBWH.
Works as a Team Leader, utilizing advanced practice skills to assist with the management of the urology OPD clinics. Ensuring all theatre bookings and urology procedures are completed. Provides education, information and counselling to patients preoperatively. Ensures required pre-operative pathology is ordered and checked.
