About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility and is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland, now providing integrated cancer care services in Central Queensland in the newly established building boasting state of the art medical equipment. The other primary hospitals within the health service are Gladstone, Emerald, Yeppoon, and Biloela. Patients are also transferred to Rockhampton for investigation and specialist care from many of the other smaller rural units.

About the role:

The Registrar or Principal House Officer (PHO) assists the Staff Specialists and Senior Medical staff in the management of medical patients with acute and urgent illness and injury.

About you:

In this role you will need:

  • MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision.
  • If qualifications were obtained outside Australia, the candidate must be eligible for registration with AHPRA including the appropriate supervision level and provide:
    • Evidence of successful completion of IELTS or equivalent English Language test results within the last year.
    • Evidence of successful completion AMC MCQ (part 1) examination.
    • Evidence of recency of clinical practice, supported by current references.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience and skills in General Medicine for the provision of clinical services to the General Medicine Department at Principal House Officer level.

Total remuneration value of $169,083 p.a. (L9) or $160,859 p.a. (L7) or $146,469 p.a. (L4) is comprised of:

  • Salary rates of $125,808 - $138,571 p.a. (L4 – L7) or $125,808 - $145,865 p.a. (L4 – L9)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
