The Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) Cancer Care Service (CCS) is the leading provider of integrated evidence-based care for persons affected by cancer and blood disorders within the Sunshine Coast Community.
CCS operates as a ‘hub and spoke' model, with services centrally coordinated from Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH). CCS provides haematology, medical oncology and radiation oncology services. Consultant Oncologists and Haematologists are based at SCUH and provide outreach services to Gympie and Nambour. Day Therapy Units and Outpatient clinics are provided at SCUH, Gympie and Nambour. Consultant Radiation Oncologist are based at SCUH. Some inpatient care is provided at all sites with a designated inpatient Unit at SCUH, 5D. Cancer treatments include but not limited to chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy and blood product support.
The role will require demonstrated sound communication, skills and knowledge in patient assessment, education, management and administration of cancer treatments and their related side effects and is required to also rotate through other designated roles within the service, such as outpatient clinics and radiation oncology.
Your key responsibilities
Salary between $3,171.90 - $4,068.50 p.f. (F/T) or salary rates: $41.73 - $53.53 p.h. (P/T), employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Multiple fixted term temporary full-time and part time positions available across 3 hospitals mentioned above, hours negotiable for 6 to 12 months) Applications will remain current for the duration of the vacancy.
