The Facility: This is a world class sub-regional hospital which services a catchment population of approximately 45,000. After a $65 million redevelopment completed in August 2015, the facility comprises 113 beds providing a comprehensive range of services including emergency, medical, surgical, maternity, paediatric, urology, orthopaedic, ophthalmology, dental, chemotherapy and haemodialysis services.
The Position: The Emergency Department manages in excess of 28,000 presentations per annum. Reporting to the Director of Emergency Medicine, the FACEM is responsible for:
Providing high quality clinical care to emergency patients
Ensuring patient flow is in line with National Emergency Access Targets (NEAT) and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Supervising Doctors in Training (DiTs)
Supporting continual improvement of emergency services at ERH
This is a part-time - 0.5 FTE position.
