Alberta Health Services (AHS) in Edmonton, Alberta, in partnership with the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, is inviting applications for a Staff Anesthesiologist with an interest in Cardiac Anesthesia (0.8 FTE) based primarily at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Edmonton.

 

The successful applicant will be expected to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague Appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and be willing to be involved in resident teaching and clinical research facilitation.

 

The Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute in Edmonton is a world leader in complex cardiac care and surgery. With a collaborative approach, our team of highly skilled cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiac care professionals, anesthesiologists, researchers and educators are advancing the prevention, detection, treatment and study of cardiovascular disease.

 

The successful applicant requires an MD or equivalent degree and will hold certification in Anesthesiology with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (or equivalent) and be eligible for licensure as a specialist in Anesthesiology with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Completion of a Cardiac Anesthesiology Fellowship at a recognized center is a mandatory requirement.
