About the role

The role of Nurse Educator – Simulation is to support the progression of simulation as a learning modality for the professional development of all our clinical staff across the health service.

Nurse Educators identify, develop, plan, implement, evaluate and monitor clinical learning opportunities to support clinicians in providing evidence-based and contemporary patient-focused services. The role of the nurse educator for clinical simulation is to lead the health service's simulation activities, establish the procedures required to build a contemporary simulation service that supports relevant and successful completion of simulation activities to support clinicians deliver safe patient care, and contributes to achieving strategic and operational service outcomes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated advanced capability and level of knowledge of clinical simulation as a learning methodology
  • Demonstrated high level of clinical practice and expertise in adult education within the current legislative and policy context.
  • Experience in undertaking learning needs analysis, developing contemporary and innovative educational materials and utilising adult educational frameworks to engage and foster a learning culture within the clinical environment
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as an effective team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to use advanced communication skills to consult, negotiate, educate and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing simulation activities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem skills and expert clinical judgement.

Mandatory Requirements:
