About us:

The Orthopaedic team comprises the Clinical Director, 4.25FTE Staff Specialist and 1FTE SMO, with subspeciality interests of arthroplasty, sports, foot and ankle, shoulder and spine. We have one AOA SET trainee, 7 PHOs, 2 RMOs and 4 interns. Medical students from the University of Queensland rotate through the Department. 

About the role:

The role is to provide specialist upper limb services, elective and trauma, including shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. The successful candidate will work closely with our hand therapy service and physiotherapists. The position includes elective operating, general and specialist trauma operating, elective and fracture clinics, teaching of the AOA trainee and other junior doctors, contribution to audit, M&M and departmental research.

About you:

  • Mandatory qualification/s: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). This will require Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in the specialty of Orthopaedic Surgery, or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $514,421 (L27) or $470,749 (L24) is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $244,248 - $258,910 (L25-L27) or $204,206 - $237,196 (L18-L24)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
