The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Registered Nurses (Intensive Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Deliver patient-focused, evidence based clinical management of intensive care patients
• Recognise and respond to acutely deteriorating patients and escalate appropriately
• Provide empathetic practice in support of patients and their families
• Work collaboratively to provide comprehensive service to patients

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Temporary full time, temporary part time
• Base salary ranging from $3171.90 - $4068.50 per fortnight
• Base salary ranging from $41.73 - $53.53 per hour

About Us

The Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital Intensive Care Units (ICU) are specialised departments that works closely to provide high standards of care for critically ill adult patients.

The Gold Coast University Hospital Intensive Care Unit is a 25 ICU bed equivalent, Level Tertiary Hospital averaging 1200 patients per year. The unit has both an Intensive Care and High Dependency care focus with a varied case mix.

The Robina Hospital Intensive Care Unit total exceeds 450 admissions per year with more than 150 requiring ventilations. The patient case mix includes general medical, respiratory, and post-surgical. Services include all forms of ventilation, dialysis, bronchoscopy, as well as the Medical Emergency Team (MET)/Code Blue Team, cardioversion and central line/Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) line services.
