About Us
The Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital Intensive Care Units (ICU) are specialised departments that works closely to provide high standards of care for critically ill adult patients.
The Gold Coast University Hospital Intensive Care Unit is a 25 ICU bed equivalent, Level Tertiary Hospital averaging 1200 patients per year. The unit has both an Intensive Care and High Dependency care focus with a varied case mix.
The Robina Hospital Intensive Care Unit total exceeds 450 admissions per year with more than 150 requiring ventilations. The patient case mix includes general medical, respiratory, and post-surgical. Services include all forms of ventilation, dialysis, bronchoscopy, as well as the Medical Emergency Team (MET)/Code Blue Team, cardioversion and central line/Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) line services.
