About the role

Permanent full time opportunity.

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Provide leadership in the operation of the STARS rehabilitation engineering service.
  • As the clinical discipline leader for this statewide service, provide strategic direction and advocacy in the management of rehabilitation engineering teams and service development across Queensland.
  • Provide critical appraisal of existing agency policy and utilise problem-solving abilities to contribute to policy development on a State and National level in the interest of the clients of Queensland Health.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Apply expert/consultant level clinical skills and knowledge to develop and implement strategies to optimise the capability of the Rehabilitation Engineering workforce across the state.
  • Provide expert level Rehabilitation Engineering clinical and consultancy services utilising advanced level clinical judgement, informed by evidence-based practice, in accordance with professional and ethical standards, to the delivery and improvement of STARS clinical services.
  • Apply advanced level influence, advocacy, negotiation and conflict management skills to effectively lead the strategic direction for Rehabilitation Engineering services and lead integrated, interprofessional, patient centred, evidence and values-based health service delivery in alignment with the MNHHS Values.
