GCUH is a large tertiary centre with excellent opportunities for advanced training via exposure to the following specialty rotations:
· Day case Total laparoscopic hysterectomies (at present we are the only hospital in Australia performing these innovative procedures)
· Advanced laparoscopic endometriosis surgery in conjunction with the Endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain center (EPPIC)
· Gynaecology oncology
· Urogynaecology and the Queensland pelvic mesh service
· Maternal fetal medicine and advanced obstetrics with an option of completing a Diploma of diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU)
· Training in medical education and medical simulation
At GCUH we have a range of advanced training positions suitable for 5 th and 6 th year trainees as listed in the table below. All jobs include a 3 month term of after hours work which includes nights and weekends.

Please also include whether you are applying for the senior registrar or education registrar roles. Formal preferencing will occur prior to the interview and will be discussed at the interview.

A six-month term focused on advanced obstetrics with 5 scanning sessions in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) per fortnight as well as complex CS lists and MFM clinic.
Also 2-3 month term of gynecology operating which can be substituted for a term at a private tertiary ultrasound clinic with the option of completing the DDU.

A 3 month term with exposure to advanced laparoscopy
A 3 month term with general gynaecology operating and a focus on colposcopy and vulval dermatoses
Further 3 month optional rotation which may include gynaecology emergency rotation, colposcopy, urogynae or general O&G.

A 3 month term with exposure to advanced laparoscopy
A 3 month term with gynaecology oncology

This job will be tailored to the trainees' preferences and may include a 3 month term at a private ultrasound facility, advanced or general gynecology operating terms, and exposure to sub specialist rotations including GONC and urogynaecology.

Senior Registrar (6 th year)
This registrar will have extra responsibilities in the department other than clinic duties. They will be responsible for the registrar roster and communication between the consultant group and registrar group and attend consultant meetings. They will have an active role in promoting a positive culture and making improvements within the department. They will also act as a mentor to more junior registrars.
Senior Registrar (5 th year)
This registrar will have extra responsibilities in the department other than clinic duties and be involved with the registrar roster. They will have an active role in promoting a positive culture and making improvements within the department. They will also act as a mentor to more junior registrars. This role is aimed at someone wishing to stay at GCUH for two years and transition to be the 6 th year senior registrar the following year.
Education Registrar
Will be rostered 0.2FTE to education responsibilities. Will be actively involved in planning and delivering registrar education, PHO education and simulation training with the department. They will also have the chance to complete the education advanced training module.
