Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist
Job Location: The Grange School, Thatcham (RG19)
Salary: Between £28,350 - £33,600 based on 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent – Part time and Term Time Only contracts available
As a speech and language therapist, how do you spend your week? With us, you’d start your day with a morning briefing, updating others and getting updated on the great work the team is doing. Next, you’ll either have a 1-2-1 session with one of the pupils you’re supporting, or run a group session, or even take part in classroom activities. Whatever you find yourself doing, you’ll be making a difference in the life of a child living with Social, Emotional or Mental Health difficulties. You’ll be a support to a child who has experienced trauma, or may be Autistic, or have ADHD.
When you’re not directly supporting the pupils, you’ll have time to train and educate our teaching colleagues on the best ways for them to support the pupils in their class. You’ll have time to work with our onsite creative arts therapist to ensure a collaborative therapeutic approach is taken. You’ll have the time to attend multidisciplinary meetings with parents, teachers, and external partners to ensure the needs of the pupils are met.
You’ll also have protected time to develop your own clinical skills with our more experienced therapists. You’ll get clinical supervision and support to complete your competency framework as you grow in confidence with your new clinical skills.
Don’t panic – You won’t be buried in paperwork. It’s part of the role, but you’ll have the flexibility to work from home outside of term time to focus on this so that your time in the school can be spent focusing on the children we support.
