The Royal Hobart Hospital is the tertiary referral hospital for Tasmania, and the principal teaching hospital for the University of Tasmania School of Medicine. The Hospital provides most specialist medical services for the region and state.

We are seeking a General Physician- Staff Specialist.
The Unit currently has eight Physicians with specialties including Gastroenterology, Oncology, Geriatrics, Cardiology and General Medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in General Medicine cover, the on-call roster

The Staff Specialist Physician role requires participation in the acute and general care medicine on-call roster. Key responsibilities of the role include review of medical patients presenting to the emergency department, inpatient care and outpatient clinics. Liaison with colleagues in General Medicine and other hospital Staff Specialists for collaboration on patient care is an essential facet of this role, as well as participation in departmental meetings and reviews as required.

The hospital provides a range of Acute Services including Emergency, Maternity, Intensive Care, General Medicine and Surgery, Medical Imaging, Pathology, Dialysis, Mental Health (Inpatient and community services) and a range of Ambulatory Services
