Environmental Health Officer Salary range Band 6$93,459 - $101,873 plus 11% Super

About the OrganisationThe City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses, and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisation, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.
About the RoleThe Environmental Health Officer works to provide, promote and maintain environmental health services through regulation, education and health-related programs.
DutiesThe position will involve working in a close and supportive team environment while completing the full range of environmental health duties typical of an inner-city Council. These include:
Apply relevant legislation and codes of practice
Conduct inspections and assessments of registered businesses
Assess applications and provide professional advice
Issue reports and notices and complete the required enforcement action to ensure compliance
Investigate complaints received regarding environmental health and take necessary action to resolve
Manage and deliver environmental health programs and/or service improvement projects as required
Skills and ExperienceSuccessful applicants will have demonstrated interpersonal skills, as well as sound negotiation, conflict resolution, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. A Bachelor of Health Science or equivalent gazetted qualification necessary for the appointment as Environmental Health Officer under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008. Victorian Driver Licence
