Hospital @ Home (H@H) provides hospital level acute care within patients own homes. An opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP based on Woodend Hospital site. These hours would be worked between 8:00am and 8.15pm. If you would like to apply for less than full time hours, please include your preferred hours within your application form.

We would like to recruit a motivated team member to work generically providing the diagnosis and management of patient conditions. This would be through the assessment, treatment and review planning process in partnership with patients and their families. As a clinical expert and senior decision maker, the GP within Hospital at Home is required to educate, guide and support a wide range of trainees to include; junior doctors, Physician Associates and Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioners. Consultants also work in house within the team to provide leadership within our frailty pathway. Senior generalists are required to provide clinical supervision across the current established pathways within both Frailty and Respiratory and also within developing pathways such as Acute Medicine and surgical for the junior clinical workforce.

You will be expected to be risk tolerant and support the immense pressures within patient flow supporting admission avoidance across specialities given the links to senior specialists as necessary without compromising basic standards of care and professionalism.

Previous experience within acute care of medical/surgical patients and Palliative Care and ideally within H@H would be desirable but training and support will be offered to the successful candidate.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Aberdeen City area is essential for this post. The successful candidate must therefore own or have access to a car for work purposes and hold a full UK driving licence.
