About us:

The Service aims to reduce the harm from alcohol and drug use as well as improve the health and wellbeing of our clients, their families, and the community. Our main office is located in Rockhampton, but provides outreach services to other areas including Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater, and Biloela.

About the role:

In this role you provide advance level clinical practice in the delivery of drug and alcohol health services to clients across the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. The position promotes harm minimisation and primary health care principles in engaging target client groups and the broader community.

About you:

Mandatory qualification/s: The successful applicant must possess a four-year degree in Psychology (Honours, Graduate Diploma) from an accredited tertiary institution and full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate.

  • Appointment to this position requires the applicant to be nearing completion of a post-graduate qualification or to have proof of full registration (or eligibility for full registration) as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, the following would be considered highly desirable:

  • PsychBA (Psychology Board of Australia) Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology would be highly regarded, as would PsychBA-approved supervisor status.
  • Membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS).

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $128,706 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $42.40 - $56.89 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases as listed on the Role Description.
