We provide Primary and Secondary Care Services with a focus on Rapid Access, Rapid Diagnosis and Treatment. For businesses, we offer an integrated healthcare service that meets Occupational Health and Private Health needs.


We are currently looking for permanent and staff to join us from various locations across England in the provision of occupational health services for our clients. Services will be provided from clients' sites on regular or ad-hoc basis.


Role Description

We are recruiting for Occupational Health Technicians, Nurses and Advisors on Part Time / Full-time basis. Flexibility in start and finish times is essential. Although most work will be work days, out of hours provision may be required at times.

As a Healthcare Technician (Occupational Health)you will work closely with the occupational health team to provide high-quality healthcare services to our clients. You must provide accurate written, electronic and verbal reports, observing confidentiality always. The role may involve blood pressure monitoring, phlebotomy, cholesterol and urine testing. It often involves working on one’s own initiative and may include site visits and considerable travel.

Training will be provided and is expected you will be trained, supervised and mentored by a senior OH nurse.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience as a nursing auxiliary, healthcare assistant or occupational health technician preferred
  • Knowledge of occupational health practices
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Experience in phlebotomy, ECG, spirometry (preferred)
  • Satisfactory General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE or equivalent) grades in English and Maths
  • Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) certification or a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in healthcare


Duties

· Measure blood pressure, pulse, height and weight including BMI

· Urinalysis

· Interpret new starter questionnaires

· Audiometry, spirometry

· Measure visual acuity to occupational standard

· Measure colour vision to occupational standard

· Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) Assessment to level 1 and 2

· Assess mobility

· Drug and alcohol testing

· Venepuncture

· ECG

· Interpretation of tests in Level 1 and food handler questionnaires

· Aerobic capacity fitness assessments

· Vaccinations (subject to 2-day course)

· Health Surveillance and Routine wellbeing checks
