About the Opportunity:
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) -Scrub Scout looking for the next challenge? We are looking for Scrub Scouts to join our team. 


The Interventional Suite accommodates adult & paediatrics patients, for planned & unplanned procedures &/or surgery. It comprises of 14 state-of-the-art operating theatres including a hybrid theatre & a cardiothoracic theatre; 2 Cardiac Catheter Labs; 4 Procedure Rooms; 41 bed Recovery Unit; Anaesthetics Service and state of the art Sterilising Services Department. The service currently operates 7 days, 08:00 to 21:30hrs. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate that they can bring their specialised skills to the scrubbing, scouting and safe treatment of patients.

About Northern Beaches Hospital:
Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

As a Scrub Scout Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking peri-operative nursing care in accordance with relevant legislations
  • Deliver evidence based nursing care
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and (AINs) to deliver patient care
  • Proactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual / patient
  • Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and National Policies

Essential Criteria:
As the ideal candidate for the roles, you will have :

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA or In-principle approval
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Post Graduate Certificate in peri operative (or working towards)
  • Minimum 2 years’ peri operative scrub / scout experience
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
  • Previous experience within a private hospital setting will be well regarded
  • Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care

You will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024 , salary range between $35.46- $49.79
