Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the LPN Supervisor or designate, the Resident Care Partner is responsible for providing care and services to meet the needs of the residents. The Care Partner works cooperatively with residents, colleagues, families, visitors, and volunteers to create a respectful, positive home like environment. This includes providing personal care, light housekeeping duties, limited food preparation and assisting with recreational activities.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 plus, Resident Care Attendant Certificate or Health Care Assistant Certificate or Community Health Worker Certificate, and one (1) year recent related experience.
• Registration with B.C. Care Aide Registry.
• Certificates in CPR, First Aide and Food Safe.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize.
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to observe and recognize changes in residents.
• Ability to establish and maintain rapport with residents and their families.
