Health And Safety Officer

We are looking for a SHE Officer (Safety, Health & Environment) on behalf of our West Bromwich based client who are a leading manufacturer for the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Speciality Chemical industries as well as many others.

This SHE officer is on a permanent basis an has become available due to continued growth and expansion. The ideal candidate will join the team to assist in the development and implementation of the sites Safety, Health and Environmental programmes.


The ideal candidate will have responsibility for the following:


  • the production and engineering management team in developing risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • with the maintenance of the sites environmental management system
  • suitable SHE inspection and auditing programmes are established and implemented, including maintenance/follow up of corrective action databases and tracking of KPI’s.
  • the development and delivery of Site Safety Meetings and other Safety communications
  • devise, write and implement suitable health, safety and environmental procedures
  • coach and mentor employees on compliance with their legal health and safety duties.


Qualifications, skills and experience:


  • years health and safety experience, gained from manufacturing (ideally a high hazard industry or chemicals etc.)
  • certificate essential (NESBOSH diploma preferred)


Salary £32,000 - £40,000 dependant on experience plus 25 days paid holiday (and all UK Bank Holidays), a 36.25 hour working week, Monday to Friday 08:45 to 16:30. Paid sick scheme, BHSF benefit scheme, free life assurance and access to a stakeholder pension scheme.
