What You Will Be Doing
The Psychiatric Assessment and Planning Unit (PAPU) is a 6 bed, 24 hour, 7 day a week mental health short stay assessment and planning unit for the provision of accelerated access to specialist psychiatric assessment and short term treatment. Ideally, the care provided should be of less than 72 hours to allow for the determination of appropriate clinical pathways. The role of PAPU is to ensure that clients receive timely access to short term assessment and planning care and treatment where required and to minimise the need for an acute inpatient stay by ensuring that clients can be adequately and appropriately supported in the community.
As a RPN on our Psychiatric Assessment and Planning Unit, you will provide recovery orientated care to inpatient consumers and their families/carers. Please refer to the Position Description for further details.
Our hard working team are supported by passionate and supportive management, a dedicated Mental Health education team and fantastic team initiatives including the Mental Health Staff Choir.

We anticipate you will have:
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health Nursing or willingness to complete
• Experience working in an inpatient mental health setting
• Completion of a graduate year program or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the principles of Recovery Orientated practice in Mental Health Care.
